Coyote
I love Coyote
I look for him in the deepest part of my being
He is life, love, fecundity
He is the dream and the dreamer
He is death and rebirth
He is pain and pleasure
He is all dualities and transcendence of all
He is joy and hope
A lover and the beloved
He greets me in the dawn
licking his lips
his eyes are alive with memories
and ungraspable knowledge
He knows things he can never tell
he brings to life all mystery and adventure
He can never be caught or tamed
His wildness is the essence of spirit
All the while I yearn for him
Something inside knows
He is unattainable
I can only hold him by letting go
I can only know him through nonattachment
His grin is my sweet desire
His fire is my soul
He is my spirit path
Where he leads I follow
The foolish things I do imitating Coyote
sometimes he is so deep within
I cannot recognize his paw prints upon my actions
But we are inseparable beings of pure awareness

I intend these works to embrace the wisdom of nature, wildlife and indigenous teachings.
Integrating this awareness into our lives opens us up to other dimensions and other realities.
