Art of the Mystical Divine
Bio:
Art is something fantastic and amazing to look at but it is not just something to look at.
It is also a powerful healing and transformational process.
Not only for the artist creating the work, also for the viewer. For all of us, the transformative impact of an image may be received through the subliminal mind, without us necessarily being conscious of it.
Even as many images may be obvious in a particular political, archetypal or emotional transmission, there are still many subtle layers of meaning that may penetrate our awareness over time and circumstance.
Thus it is and has been for over 30 years, my intention to heal and transform through the sublime medium of artistic expression.
For me creating is a soul spinning wing making venture
I have chosen to explore the inner and outer mythologies, healing stories
springing forth spontaneously from our inner selves
giving us direction and guidance through the dance of our lives
Sumi means “guardian spirit.” Sumi works to protect the land, water and creatures homeland Earth. Transformation is a common theme in art and legend. Transformation represents the connection and kinship between the human, animal and spirit world. Revered animals, such as the orca whale, the bear and the thunderbird, are depicted in transformation through masks, totems and other forms of art.
